Yemen: Report on the Ta`iz Situation

On 17 December 2015, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a statement on the UN-Sana`a’ website informing that: Ta`iz is really under a blockade and 200,000 people there are in need of water and other essential food stuffs. On 24 November 2015, the UN declared, more than 21 million people in Yemen are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.

In a new report, local development NGOs report that more than 200,000 people under the blockade in Ta`iz where people the Salih/al-Huthi blockade has been imposed for 6 months; no water, no medicine and no food are available. The price of food had increased 700%, according the observers of the Ta`iz Network for Development (TND).
